I still have lots of “bad” cleaners in my house as I’m just starting to move over to greener cleaners. My hubby’s favorite “bad” cleaner is Scrubbing Bubbles and I’d say mine are Lysol disinfecting spray and Clorox wipes.

I’d love to win some greaner cleaners!

I made it just in time! It’s not April 1st, yet! I’d like to be entered into the contest… even though I don’t have a baby. I’m trying to live greener Most of my cleaning supplies are pretty environmentally friendly… well about 50%!!!

So while “living green” has been around for quite awhile now I must admit to not giving it too much thought, that is until my son was born the beginning of January. Having the toxic cleaning products around the house does worry me, but I can’t justify wasting the money of throwing them out just to buy non-toxic (especially when my husband just lost his job). But when one runs out, it will be replaced with an eco-friendly alternative. But as for confessions…..I have….

Clorox toilet bowl cleaner
Scrubbing bubbles wipes and spray
Swiffer floor wipes
Windex
Clorox anywhere hard surface sanitizer
Lysol food surface sanitizer
and more…..

So enter me into your contest, hopefully I will get an new green product that I will fall in love with and will be converted!

i’d love to try out some of the scouring paste because (here’s my dirty little secret) i still use comet for cleaning the toilet. i know, i know, it’s awful! i think that’s the only non-green cleaner i still use, but i haven’t been able to give it up yet.

The majority of the products under my sink and in my laundry room are Mrs. Meyers. They are a little pricey but not when you collect 20% off coupons for Bed, Bath & Beyond like I do. To be honest, I buy them because they smell wonderful (Verbena and Geranium are my favorite but the lavender is a bit too spicy for my nose) and I haven’t found anything that compares to the great scents.

Any way, according to O Magazine (in a Laurie David article), the Mrs. Meyers products are green. Bonus! They make a great abrasive that rivals ajax and I love using them on laundry. They even make wipes (which I admit to using).

Of course, I have some old Method products mixed in, too. They claim to be safe enough to eat off of, but I’m skeptical. I have a full bottle of window cleaner and tile spray left over.

And (just like Joy!) there’s a bottle of carpet cleaner under the sink. I just pulled up the last of the carpet in my house, but I have pets and rugs so I’ll probably keep it around forever.

One cleaner I’ve used since college is Simple Green. It claims to be non-toxic and biodegradable and now comes with the Good Housekeeping seal. Does anyone know more about this stuff? It’s been around forever but that doesn’t mean it isn’t as green as the new products. I’d like to know for sure.

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. I am happy to find your site!

I have been wanting to make the switch to non-toxic cleaners, especially now that we have a toddler. I’ve been putting it off because we’re preparing to move in a couple months (which is when I plan to get rid of all the yukky stuff).

I confess that those Clorox wipes are just too handy for quick clean-ups. I’m also stuck on Ajax for cleaning the bathtub. I’m going to click over to look at your post on cleaning better! Thanks for the giveaway!

OMG- I’ve been trying to get through all day!! I’m so glad it finally allowed me in…hooray! Okay, toxic confessions…I have Lysol toilet bowl cleaner- clorox all purpose cleaner, and Ajax that I’m currently stowing away. I’m scared to use them with my baby around (11 mos.). I’ve been cleaning naturally since pre-pregnancy but have not been able to purchase any Shaklee products. If Oprah must have these products…then they’ve gotta be good…LOL!! We’re really trying to minimize the toxic overload in the household as much as we can without going broke! We really need something for the tub too, right now!! I would so love to win!! Count me in.
