I absolutely love this idea. I hate the plastic grass so much I've omitted it completely from the Easter baskets in past year. My girls are going to love this project!

Ooh, I had another idea. Try growing the grass in a pie plate, or other small dish that will fit inside the basket and then just put the dish inside the basket on easter morning.

I love that idea! My question is, how do you put it in a place where it can grow before Easter AND have your kids not notice it? Hmmm.... I suppose the Easter basket doesn't HAVE to be all surprise and the kids could be involved. I like it! There is also all kinds of symbolism around Easter here... planting seeds, watching them grow.

I’m always amused by the term “green baby“. Are we raising a whole generation of children with jaundice? :)

But it’s great to see parents really taking the care to make these sorts of decisions. Keep up the great work.
