My sister and I both recently had baby boys. My son, Joshua, was born on March 10 of this year and my nephew, Jacob, was born on December 21, 2008. Both my sister and I live at home, with our parents, with our boyfriends. Its very true that many items we bought for our newborns aren't useful for long. In response to the economy and our efforts to live greener, my sister and I started http://www.babystepsmiami.com, for mothers to trade (or buy) baby items. We live in Miami, and we are really trying to get our website going. We are not trying to get rich, just help parents in our area (we are 21 and 23, and many, many, people we know are either pregnant or have infants). So if you'd like to visit, go ahead! Thanks so much!

I never bought a moses basket even though I liked them because I thought they were so expensive and wouldn't be used long. I really like your idea for one!
My daughter is slow to potty train (she's 2.5), and we still use out diaper wipe warmer. I used to think they were the silliest deviced ever, but they stopped all the changing time crying for us. I guess my daughter is sensitive to cold or something, but we've MORE than gotten out $20 out of it!

I had a baby 5 years ago and just recently (weeks ago) gave birth to a newborn. What I was excited about: I was able to either re-use things I saved from 5 years ago, or get hand-me-downs from friends. I didn't have to buy anything! What I was able to get as hand-me-downs: cloth diapers, swing/rocker, bouncer, walker, stroller, gymini, bassinet and more!
