I have that Nathan bottle, but stopped using it because it would spurt water out of the straw every time I opened it. Did anyone else encounter that problem?

The Nathan bottles have an excellent reputation. I like the fact that you can replace the drinking straws. To me it means that Nathan intends you to use the bottles long enough to wear out the straws.

Klean Kanteen makes a wide mouthed bottle that has a mouth wider than their regular bottles so you can dump ice cubes in easier. KK bottles also come with replaceable and interchangeable lids. I take it as another sign of quality.

I have a Nathan water bottle too and love it. It’s very easy to carry around, and easy to clean. Mine came with spare straws as well.

Another user with a 27 oz Klean Kanteen sitting next to me on my desk. It fits reasonably well in my bike cage for bike rides. I agree with Jill that the sport top would be nice, and I alternate into wishing the mouth was smaller (easier to drink out of) or larger (easier to fill with ice). It may be a bit big to fit in some cup holders though. My wife has a SIGG aluminum bottle that she likes, though it won’t meet most of your criteria and still needs a lining which may or may not have some of the same issues as the plastic bottles.

The Nathan bottle looks nice. I’d say that stainless steel is the way to go these days.

I love my 27oz. Klean Kanteen water bottle! I’ve had it for about 2 1/2 years and take it with me everywhere. I wish I had the sport top so it would be easier to drink from when I’m working out, but other than that, no complaints. It’s perfect for me.
