We’ve just discovered that humble ranch dressing helps our children wolf down carrot sticks and even raw spinach! But other quirkier favorites around here are dollops of peanut butter in applesauce, Laughing Cow Cheese spread on Ak Mak crackers, boiled edamame with salt, and homemade macaroni and cheese. (I’ll be posting the recipe for an incredibly easy and delicious mac and cheese very soon!) What are your children’s favorites? Inspire us!

My almost 2 yr old will eat anything I give him–and he is still skinny!
My 3 yr old is a little more picky but he loves oatmeal, raisins, carrots, celery, smoothies (I know thats not food) cheerios (not reall cheerios I give him erewhon rice crispies he calls them cheerios) blueberriesand bagels.
It seems like a lot and very healthy but dinners are a struggle with him and breakfast and lunch is a breeze!
Our 9 month old is still exploring. So far she eats almost everything, but has recently (as in this week) begun to prefer some textures to others. Puréed broccoli? No. Small pieces of soft broccoli that she can feed herself? More! More! More!
She also loves soups – especially tomato-based and/or spicy. In fact, spicy tomato-fish stew was the first thing she really ate. (All attempts to feed her prior to that were massive failures.) She gobbled it down and has continued to love it for the past 2 months.
I don’t know if it will stick, but her adventurous palate is a source of joy and amusement for both Dad and me.
My almost 2-year-old can’t get enough of avocados, strawberries, cheese, pasta with pesto and kamut puffs. She’s also usually willing to eat eggs, yogurt, banana, and porridge. She won’t eat too many actual food combinations, but she’ll pick out things that she likes from the dishes.
My 19-month-old consistently enjoys whole wheat mac & cheese (Hodgson Mills) with peas, yogurt, garlic hummus, freeze-dried bananas, graham crackers, beef uncured hot dogs (Applegate Farms), peanut butter, Kashi Heart to Heart cereal.
B is 19 months and loves avocado, cottage cheese, cheese, peas, corn, yogurt, bananas and any meat that is cooked in a slow cooker.
My 4-year-old’s favorites are waffles (I use the Arrowhead Mills multigrain mix, mash in half a banana, and substitute molasses for the honey so he gets a little extra iron); he’d eat them three meals a day if I let him (and a waffle with a side of black beans or peas is a frequent dinner for him). Peas, apple slices, and quinoa with soy sauce are other foods I can count on him to eat whenever I serve them.
My daughter will be 2 in a month. She loves all types of berries and also cooked peas. She tries to eat nearly everything we do, but if she had her way she would eat her weight in berries
