Our sofa is actually incredibly study and comfy. We opted for chocolate brown microfiber which is wonderful for easy cleaning. The frame itself is really solid. My son has jumped off our couch thousands of times in the last year, and it's still going strong! The company also has an excellent lifetime guarantee--and I believe it includes the option of having the cushions re-stuffed if they start looking a big saggy. Knowing how much jumping happens on this couch on a daily basis, we may just need a little help with that sometime in the next few years!

Next week we're moving out of state and leaving our futon behind. It cost $100 new at Walmart 10 years ago. The metal frame is falling apart - two of the legs have fallen off, so the middle of the couch is being supported by the wedged in legs. The mattress is lumpy and even the cover we got to hide the hideous print is coming apart at the seams.

That's pretty extreme cheapska...uh, *thriftiness* even for us. We knew we would be moving in the near future so instead of buying a new couch we decided to make due and dump the old futon when we moved. Well, near has been a little further than we planned. Still, I'm looking forward to an upgrade. Something with a slipcover because we have a 2 year old and a 75 pound dog.

We have never actually purchased a couch. Before kids we lived with roommates and one got a couch from his brother. Then we moved out and were given a futon that we plus baby had for a year and became pretty trashed. We were then given a couch by my sister that we have had for about 3.5 years. This one is a mess, but I don't know if my husband is ready for a new couch. It's been nice, but there comes a time in your life that you aren't so young and newly married that people stop passing couches down to you.

Endurosuede. I recommend endurosuede. We bought our endurosuede couch before we had our baby, and it has already stood up incredibly well to 5 years of nieces, nephews, dogs, house guests - and it's comfortable! It came with special endurosuede cleaner, which really does take out any stain. But we've actually been able to clean up most spills and other fluids with water and a vacuum.
