Product Review: bloom BABY Sensitive Wipes and Giveaway!

bloom-baby-wipesWe’re always on the lookout for non-irritating wipes for our baby’s sensitive skin.  At home, we use our own cloth wipes and homemade diaper spray, but on-the-go we use packaged wipes.  If we’re out of town for a week, the exposure to the so-called “sensitive” wipes usually results in an angry bottom.

bloom BABY Wipes is one if the new ones we’ve tried, and after a week of use we’re irritation free!  I’m always skeptical about claims of being “sensitive” or “gentle”, since it’s not always the case.  But bloom Baby has taken a lot of care to achieve a “Skin Safe Rating”, and includes the risk level and benefit of each ingredient on the outside of the packaging. The Skin Safe Rating is based on the Handbook of Green Chemicals and Whole Foods Premium Body Care Standards, which rates each ingredient based on evolving scientific and regulatory data to ensure their safety.

The wipes are made of “EcoFiber”, an ultra-soft, non-abrasive and skin-friendly material made from sustainably derived cellulose.  The water used in the wipes is sourced from a 6,000-year-old Canadian Glacier that is purified until it is pharmaceutical-grade.

Besides the glacier water, the only added ingredients are plant-derived vitamins A, B-Complex, D, Omega-3, and -6, and Phenoxyethanol, a preservative that has been proven safe at very low levels and prevents the growth of microorganisms. This study conducted on pre-term newborn babies found phenoxyethanol-based antiseptics quickly metabolized by even a premature baby’s system.

Hypoallergenic and produced in an FDA facility free of nuts, gluten and wheat processing, and Bloom Baby products are made in the USA at a facility powered by wind energy.

  19. Just used these with my kiddos- we did not have the same experience as you all. My girls did not have diaper rashes and felt a burn and very warm feeling after I used these. I honestly had my husband try one too and he said there is something weird with those diapers and not to use them on the girls. I don’t think they cried while I was wiping-/ but they both said ow and made comments about them. I find it surprising that these are used for people prone to rashes and with sensitive skin after or experience.

  20. Not a fan. They broke my daughter out worse than any other wipe we have ever used. I personally used one to wipe my face and it gave me a rash Instantly. After several attempts to contact the manufacture directly via email. I called and was provided horrible customer service. This company obviously does not stand by their products. I was referred back to the point of purchase. As a company two of the most important things you can do is stand by your product and employ educated individuals who posses basic customer service skills. I will not be purchasing recommending or supporting this awful company in any way.
