WaterWipes Review and Giveaway!

WaterWipes

WaterWipesWe’ve tried many different baby wipes over the years, and all of them give my girls diaper rashes after a few days. Even the sensitive versions with lanolin or aloe still contain a list of other chemicals.  That’s why we were so excited to discover WaterWipes!

WaterWipes contain only two ingredients. And that’s it! Just 99.9% purified water and 0.1% grapefruit seed extract. Nothing else.

Why grapefruit seed extract? Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) is known for its skin conditioning and moisturizing benefits. It is also a natural antimicrobial agent as well as an anti-fungal, and  anti-viral.  And it helps combat yeast infections.

The best part is that WaterWipes works as well as any other baby wipe, but is safe enough to use on hands, noses, faces, or whatever else needs a good wipe down.  We use them all over the house, since GSE is non-toxic, environmentally safe and is becoming the go-to disinfect and sanitizer for hospitals in the US and Europe.  WaterWipes are manufactured in Ireland.

The Jojoba Company Baby Oil Review with Giveaway!

 The Jojoba Company Baby Oil

jojoba-baby-oilWe use olive oil on our own skin, but once we read about the similarities between Jojoba oil (actually a liquid wax) and the protective wax produced in baby’s own skin and eyes, we were sold on The Jojoba Company Baby Oil for our baby. It turns out that vernix, the white stuff that covers a newborn baby, is made of the same wax esters as Jojoba. So aside from leaving baby soft and moisturized, Jojoba adds an extra layer of protection to their sensitive skin.

The Jojoba Company Baby Oil contains 100% Australian Jojoba Oil, as well as Organic Lavender Oil and Organic Chamomile Oil which act as antiseptics as well as providing a calm and soothing scent. It also contains Moringa Oil which is rich in vitamins, antioxidants, fatty acids, palmitoleic, oleic and linoleic acids. It is also antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory. This nourishing combination of oils is perfect for new skin.

Preparing For Cold and Flu Season

We started this post last November, but then we spent most of winter fighting off the colds and flues we should have been preparing for!  The winter storm we got last week reminded us that the season isn’t over yet!  If anything, it can be even harder on the immune system to go from snow pants to shorts in the span of a few days.

Here’s what we’ve been keeping on hand to help us through cold and flu season!

Chyawanprash

Who Loves Me? Personalized Book

who-loves-me-bookIf you’re looking for a gift that is more meaningful than a new dress and more lasting than a plastic egg full of jelly beans, we recommend the personalized book, Who Loves Me?, by I See Me! This colorful and thoughtful read includes the name of your child in the title, for example, “Who Loves Emily”.

Upload a picture of your child to be displayed on a dedication page along with their full name, and choose up to 6 names of those who love your child best to be incorporated into the story.  Each of these names is featured on a page spread along with a lyrical rhyme of that emphasizes the depth of their love.  For example – and this is a paraphrase – ” Mama loves you more than the mountains and more than the streams…”.  The sentiments are nature based and accompanied by a collage-style illustration that reminded me of Eric Carl.  Think colorful hand-cut painted papers that are layered to create vibrant images.
